Emergency Roofing Services
Fast, Dependable Roofing Services in Alpharetta, GA
Your roof is your homes main defense against the forces of nature and even a brand new roof can fall victim to an unexpected emergency event. And one thing you can count on in the Atlanta area is unpredictable weather. We like to say around these parts is “if you don’t like the weather that’s ok because it’s fixing to change”. Locally, we refer to the weather pattern that pops up out of Alabama and on up Northwest of Atlanta towards Eastern Tennessee as Tornado alley. Just over the past decade, North Fulton County, Georgia has experienced at least two confirmed tornadoes. On November 30, 2016 an EF-0 tornado with 95 mph winds touching down causing damage along Winward Parkway and McGinnis Ferry Road. Additionally, on October 14, 2014 an EF-1 tornado with winds up to 105 mph traveled from west of Alpharetta through Milton, resulting in hundreds of snapped or uprooted trees and moderate roof damage to homes. Thankfully, there were no reported fatalities. There is a common weather pattern coming up from Alabama associated with severe thunderstorms in the form of supercells. These storms typically develop where warm, moist air from the gulf, dry air from the west, and strong upper-level winds create wind shear. This combination leads to rotating updraft, which can produce tornadoes. This pattern is most common in spring and late fall but van occur at any time given the right conditions. This is not to mention Hurricane Irma, Zeta and Helene bringing their strong winds and heavy rainfall into the region.
